Helmed by patriarch, Joey Goss, Cheldan Homes is a family-owned business with multiple family members involved in the company’s day-to-day operations. In fact, the company’s namesake is derived from the founder’s own children. 

Our CEO and Founder started this company in 1993 after years of industry experience beginning at the tender age of just thirteen years old. Inspired by his desire to create a quality product he was proud of, as well as his need to provide for his growing family, Joey took a leap of faith. With his beautiful wife by his side, the two began putting together beautiful homes, brick by brick, working tirelessly to build a legacy.
In those early days, you could find him on the roof of any given home, ensuring the highest quality, while she would be out front planting the individual flowers for the landscaping. Each home was a labor of love and they were proud to hand over the keys to the new homeowner.

Almost 30 years later, we have that same sense of pride in every home we build. It is our privilege to create a beautiful place for you to call home. Joey Goss


Chief Executive Officer, Founder 

He may not have been born in Texas, but every part of our leader is a true-blue Texan. With a fearless tenacity, he built this company from the ground up more than 20 years ago. In the company's humble beginnings, Joey himself could be seen completing the framing, roofing, and plumbing on all of Cheldan's first homes. Now, with decades of experience under his belt and a lifetime of knowledge, he continues to guide the company to be one of the metroplex's most reputable builders. Since the beginning, he has been driven by one single purpose: make home ownership simple while providing unsurpassed client care. Today, with high standards and strong values, those founding principles are shared by the entire Cheldan team.

Trayce Moore


New Home Sales

 

Trayce has two superpowers: communication and positivity, both of which allow her to provide the best service to all of her clients. Having grown-up in North Richland Hills and lived everywhere from Richardson to Arlington and Euless to Weatherford, chances are she knows a thing or two about the area you want to be in.  Her many years in real estate and advertising make her the perfect fit for Cheldan's New Home Sales team. 

Trayce resides in Fort Worth’s Eagle Mountain-Saginaw area with her husband and two children, serves as the EMS-ISD’s PTO Hospitality Chair, and has participated in with various community outreach programs, including: Habitat for Humanity Rebuild Project, First Street Mission, FUMC Fort Worth Sunday School Teacher, YMCA Youth Sports, and more.

Chad Mauppin


Superintendent, Project Manager  

Our quintessential Texas good ol’ boy, Chad can be found wearing jeans, cowboy boots and swinging a hammer on any given Cheldan home. It took a phone call from the CEO to scoop up Chad and bring him onto the Cheldan team. After several years working for another local homebuilder, Chad was certain his time in the homebuilding industry was over. “I wasn’t sure I still wanted to be in the homebuilding game. But then I got a call from Joey. He brought me into the office, and here we are.” It’s been over a decade since that fateful phone call and during his tenure for the company, Chad has worn many hats. He began as a sales consultant, moved up to Sales Manager, then transitioned to Vice President of Construction. Now he oversees all of Cheldan’s current construction and project efforts. With a perfect blend of problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and a commitment to excellence, Chad embodies Cheldan’s values of integrity and service. On weekends, you can find him packing up his family in their 5th wheel camper to enjoy the great outdoors. If they aren’t traveling together, he’s on the sidelines of a sports field, cheering on his daughter and son. After all of these years working for Cheldan, his favorite part of the company is its dedication to providing homeowners with a product he can be proud of and the way the company feels like a family. 

Vincent Barsalona


Contracts & Closings 

If you ever need someone that knows their way around a subway, has a keen eye for the best bagel in town, and knows how to hail a cab from a mile away, talk to Vincent. Our resident New Yorker, Vincent keeps things running smoothly behind-the-scenes. After wearing many hats at Cheldan, including Contract Coordinator and Purchasing/ Contracts Manager, Vincent now keeps the wheels turning as our Contracts & Closings Account Manager. When he’s not overseeing our purchase orders, managing contracts, coordinating with lenders, and scheduling closings, you can find Vincent outdoors! He’ll be camping or photographing his surroundings. If the Texas heat gets too hot, you’ll find him enjoying his next love - beautiful cars. Vincent’s favorite elements of Cheldan are the people he works with, it’s core values, and its friendly culture! 

Chad Hart


Warranty & Construction Specialist 

Can he fix it? Yes, he can! Our resident “Chad the Builder” knows his way around a toolbox. As the in-house warranty specialist, whether it’s a leaky faucet, an HVAC unit on the fritz, or a squeaky door, he knows how to solve the problem. Chad joined Cheldan in 2007 and brought with him years of industry experience in new home sales, home construction and home renovations. In his free time, you’ll find Chad at any given ball field or sports complex cheering on his kiddos. When he takes the rare moment for himself, he’ll be enjoying D-FW’s finest golf courses. Born and raised in Texas, Chad left the Lone Star state for a brief stint - long enough to engrain the words “Boomer Sooner” into his every day vocabulary. When asked why he has worked for Cheldan so long and what he loves about the company, Chad says, “Cheldan is an honest, enjoyable, and rewarding company to work for with strong faith and family values.” 

Trey Hart


Vice President of Operations 
 
His day-to-day includes a laundry list of activities that keep the company and all of its projects running smoothly. He provides oversight on purchasing, construction and lot/land acquisitions. His due diligence and commitment ensure our homes are built to the highest customer satisfaction while maintaining a strict building schedule and budget. Trey joined Cheldan in early 2007 and with over 22 years of experience under his belt, has developed an inherent understanding of our customer’s expectations and desires. He is integral in helping Cheldan tailor our process and products to the homeowner’s needs. He has worked on both sides of the process, spending many years as a Cheldan sales consultant and then overseeing construction of several neighborhoods from start to finish. A University of Oklahoma graduate, Trey is now a proud Aledo Bearcat fan. On the weekends, he can be found wrangling tornadoes and chasing some of the Southwest’s scariest storms. If it’s a more relaxing, sunny day in Texas, he’ll enjoy the outdoors on the golf course.  

Evan Ballenger


Accounting Department

He excels in Excel and has never shied away from a hefty set of invoices. Able to crunch numbers faster than most of us can complete a set of crunches, Evan Ballenger is Cheldan’s head of Accounting. Evan made his way to Texas from Palm Beach, Florida in August of 2013. What was supposed to be just a short trip to visit family turned into a giant leap of faith - he signed the contract for a new home before he ever boarded his return flight! Outside of Cheldan, you can find Evan traveling the world, exploring new places, and tackling exciting adventures. As the saying goes, he wasn’t born in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could. Evan loves working for Cheldan because of its tight-knit family environment and the flexibility it provides to allow him to keep exploring and traveling!
